The Tank!

Recent construction along Tangent Drive, (Meadow Wood Estates), gave way to a "detention pond" to handle runnoff water from storms at Meadow Wood. This remains a controversial subject. What are your thoughts?

I think the chance to comment on the Tank is a great start. It will be interesting to hear what others say. I think the "Tank" is an example of lack of coordination. Planning Commission approves one thing, City Engineer approves something else. A Counselor says put a fence up to make it safe and thinking a 6 foot high fence not a 4 foot fence which the owner is thinking. Then there is the safety of the water depth which would not have been a problem if the County had installed the drain down the center of Tangent Drive.

I think it is unsightly! In terms of unsightlyness, it rates right up there with the lot next to the post office except that the tank is unattended. I don't think an 8 foot fence would be good enough but it will stop small children. There isn't a lock on the gate either. It is a breeding area for mosquitoes!

What will be done for the poor people who live next door to this as far as mosquitoes? That is really showing "neighborly concideration"! Personally, I would not want to buy a new house in a area that I have to drive by that everytime I go home. Great job to the City Counsel for letting this happen!

Yes, it's unsightly. To say it's the City Counsel's fault is ignorance! The city was very specific to the developer on what they wanted. This was not it!
One can't camp out every day to watch them build it.

Perfect example of lack of planning and forethought. The contractor took advantage of the city and the city allowed it! Before anything else is approved think it through and monitor all building activity. If the city is unable to control something so small as this then its obvious we're not ready to grow!

Interesting Blog site. I see that 'comment moderation' is enabled, meaning the blog author, Seaton, has control over what is published. Another example of Seaton wanting to control everything to his anti-growth obsesion. How decietful. Bet you don't see this comment on the blog.

The pond is very troubling to me. With West Nile due to hit this area soon this is a perfect breeding ground for mousiqtos.
The least the could of done is put a pump to circulate the water.
I just hope they fix the fencing before anyone drowns this is just a accident waiting to happen.
